Capturing and Processing Images – CCP Weekend Course

Capturing and Processing Images – CCP Weekend Course

Description:
For over twenty-five years I have offered weekend education programs in collaboration with contemporary art spaces, such as the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne, Australia.  Artists, photographers, designers, curators, scientists, and enthusiasts from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, both professional and nonprofessional, have attended these courses.  Over this time, moment0us cultural and technological changes have effected all areas of photography; from hardware and software, to image capture, distribution and access, to employment, culture and inheritance.  My research has contributed to this evolution, and our courses constructively help others integrate these profound changes into their lives, their photography, recreation and employment.

Content:
Weekend courses vary from extended studio workshops, to specialist one-off events, and custom syllabi covering multiple topics. Each course is presented as a self-contained set of skills adapted to the individual needs of those attending.  Class sizes are purposely kept small from a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 12 attendees.  Each course also has its own resource website with course notes, videos, references, and practical exercises in support of ongoing learning. Our courses are delivered in a focused but entertaining manner through demonstrations, explanations, practical exercises, and hands-on experimentation. Discussion and analysis is actively encouraged, while aspects of photographic history and cultural theory expand and contextualise our practice.
